The Emerald City of Oz (1910) brings Dorothy back to Oz for good, with Aunt Em and Uncle Henry in tow, just as the Nome King raises an army of Whimsies, Growleywogs, and Phanfasms to tunnel beneath the deadly desert and sack the kingdom. Half siege story and half travelogue — through Cuttenclip Village, Utensia, Bunbury, Bunnybury, and the country of the Flutterbudgets — it was Baum's sixth Oz book and his attempted farewell to the series, ending with Glinda sealing Oz from the outside world.
